Two houses, three miles apart.

Farmhouse Getaways is two homes in Ramona, thirty-five minutes from San Diego, hosted by Cory and Carissa.

Red Barn Ranch sleeps eighteen on four gated acres of working farm — a fenced pool and spa, a 2,200 square foot game barn, animals to meet, and a farm stand at the back gate. Mountain Retreat sleeps fourteen on eight private acres of trail and pine, with a hot tub under a very dark sky and a 700 square foot game room.

Take one, or take both and put thirty-two people within a few miles of each other. Each house is set up for its own numbers, so if you take both and want everyone together at one of them for a meal or a celebration, tell us early — that takes arranging, and there is a cost.

We are not a wedding venue. We are where the people you love most wake up that weekend.

Why a house instead of a hotel block

A venue rents you six hours. The weekend is the part people remember.

Hotel blocks scatter everyone across three floors and a lobby. Book one house and the whole group is under one roof, on four acres, with a kitchen big enough to actually cook in and a barn the children happily disappear into for the entire afternoon.

The morning of, there is room for everyone to get ready without queueing for a mirror. The morning after, there is a farm stand ninety seconds from the back door and enough coffee for everybody.

Most groups book three or four nights. Some take both properties and put thirty-two people within a few miles of the venue.

What we can help with

You plan the weekend. We help you line up the rest.

You are in an unfamiliar town with a lot of people to feed, and the last thing you want is to be hunting down breakfast for eighteen on the morning of.

Tell us what you have in mind and we will point you to the people we would call ourselves — a chef, a caterer, someone for massage or yoga in the morning. Nine years here means we know who is good.

On the day, we are around. We know where things plug in, where vans can park and how the property works, so when your family is busy being your family, we are glad to meet the vendors and show them where to go. The setting up is yours to run, and you will never be working the place out on your own.

We can arrange

These are additions to the stay, arranged ahead of time. Every one of them depends on what you are after, so tell us and we will be glad to put a quote together.

The same thing works for

Reunions, friends groups and retreats

A family reunion. A group of friends who want a weekend that does not need an itinerary. A wellness retreat, a writing week, a small team offsite. What makes a house work for one of them makes it work for all of them — room for everyone, a lot of land, and nothing you have to drive to unless you want to.
